returned the db electrical because it doesn't do shit at idle

already bought an iraggi alt 240/165,

apparently, the iraggi doesn't to shit at idle too(even if its rated 165 at idle)

idle rpm= 600

it doesnt matter what they do at 600. my explorer hates having any stress at idle anyways (running the air conditioner or the system). it matters at 2,000 rpm

MECHMAN told me the iraggi alt comes with 49mm pulley. he can sell me a 46mm one but it will be prone to slippage. i guess ill get the smaller pulley and upgrade my belt to a goodyear gatorback and make it an inch shorter.

bad news: while i was drilling the mounting holes the drill bit broke.

i still installed it just for the sake of hearing it.

****, the lows are insane.

much much cleaner sound than my l7

still have to carpet it

fwiw i put my 250 amp ohio gen alt on my 99 explorer this weekend... NO output at idle. Going to call them right now and see what there is for an overdrive pulley.

Granted i can do 149.9 bassrace runs with it @ 2000 rpms and the voltage stays at 13.2.. as long as i get a decent start anyway.

Here is the problem you are having.Your idle RPM is too low.Your probably at a 3 to 1 ratio with the previous alt pulleys that you have got.Which means the alt was only spinning at 1800 RPM.Normally the cut in for the alt is 2400 RPM(alt speed)You need to find out the size of your crank pulley in order to get the proper size alt pulley.
