where did you get the 200 amp alternator?
and for how much if you dont mind me asking?

db electrical for $216 shipped.

i bought an iraggi alt before but it keeps my battery light on the dash on.

it failed on the fifth day, exchanged it but still the batt light is on.

decided to just return it for a refund.

gonna install the alternator on friday, i hope the batt light will be off.

Yeah, but I asked if this alternator does its job on this forum and some chimed in and said it was awful, no idle output, and far overrated..

I guess we got to wait until this one is installed in his explorer and then we will find out..

got the db electrical installed, i do feel that it is lacking idle output even thought it is using an overdrive pully. the voltage is also lower that when using the stock alt.

A better question is what does your truck idle at? My alt doesnt kick in until 800 rpm, but my truck idles at 600. As soon as you touch the gas the voltage goes up.

my truck idles at 600 too,

my stock alt does more at 600 rpms than the DB electrical one.

im gonna return the alt and get one from another shop.

what do you guys suggest?

Mean Green or EA or Ohio Gen?

I don't want to do iraggi as i tried it already and got a bad experience.

very nice build. but you should of put a hc2400 in front to. even a hc2000 can fit without cutting any metal. nice amp. mine have been very solid for me. what are doing for the box?

Ohio gen or mean green will be your best bet. Although at the same time they'll be more expensive than the excessive amperage alt.
