When you buy a new F90 you get a two year warranty. When you buy a refurb there is a 90 day warranty only. All unused units will be going on clearance when Pioneer releases the new Z110BT. The F90 retails for 1000 right now with their instant rebate, you can expect that to go down around...

My Advice is wait like 3 weeks then buy a F90. Pioneer is releasing their new products right now so all the older stuff will be going on clearance. You will be able to pick up the best unit for a cheap price. Just make sure you don't get a refurb.

You need to use the cleanest source audio as you can. And something that the stereo is required to interpret and translate. Otherwise the stereo isn't really involved in the audio process other than just providing an interface between your audio source and the speakers. MP3 CD's don't count...

There are freeware applications on the internet that will change them to the correct format. AVI is mainly for Computer Media players. Change the format and It will work like a champ. Thats how I run everything in my store and car.

They will read the video files as long as they are in the right format. On a Pioneer headunit you will need them in DIVX or MPEG4.

Sound Quality and AUX don't go together. SQ is not about adjusting bass, mid and treble. There is timing in speakers, sound staging, and so many other aspects. Aux gives you a flat input that can't be adjusted more than High, Mid, and Low. To even have the two mentioned together cracks me up.

Audio control on the Pioneer isn't what I would like it to be. I don't know much about the Eclipse. Pioneer has proven to be very reliable for me. If your going for the 3100, spend a little extra and get the 4100. Much better audio control. As well as I believe they jump the RCA output to 5...

Neither the 500 or 700 have DVD. They can both do Ipod of you buy Pioneers cables. the 500 is an on dash module and its honestly junk for how much it costs.
