SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT. I finally did it! I found a way to shove my Skar ZVX-18 into my incredibly shallow mustang trunk. Unfortunately, there is this terrible rubbing sound(and its loud!) coming from it at high volumes on LOW notes. Now i suspect its one of two things and i'm looking for...

I had a ZVX-18 in there in a 3.2 sealed. It was just too much space taken. I would keep that setup but its just not gonna happen. I'm literally car pooling every single day now. I have to go lower than 2.5 atleast.

No, size absolutely has much to do with how easy a subwoofer can slam lows. That said i whole heartedly acknowledge that there are 10's and 12's that can slam lows just as well as most 15's and 18's. But for a 15 it is easier and shakes harder and thats just how more cone area on a sub works.

Thats how sealed boxes work. Cleaner sound, requires less cubic ft for optimum performance but sacrifices SPL.
