Old School VS. New School Audio Hardware

Well I just kinda figured that Older Amps wouldn't be able to produce enough power or the correct frequencies to power modern speakers correctly, and stuff like that.

Old School VS. New School Audio Hardware

Oh yes but I am wondering why so many people like the newer speakers and subs and yet the older amplifiers. Wouldn't there be compatibility problems, power issues, or wiring issues?

Old School VS. New School Audio Hardware

I have gotten mixed opinions on weather or not I should go with some "well known, prestigious" Old School Hardware, or the "radical, and refined" New School Hardware. So I'm going to ask you guys. Here's a pole, and you guys can select witch of each category of Audio Hardware you prefer, old...

    good picks?

Moderators wont post my messages for some reason so sorry but I have to reply in this random forum to try to find out what is going on. I didn't use any foul language in the post, no brand slandering, nothing negative. I was just wondering about RMS wattage under powering some speakers and over...

Will this work? Wanting to try out this new system soon...

Well CrutchField Audio (Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras), they recommend that I use the silver wiring over the Copper. They say it's much more conductive, and provides much clearer sound. What do you guys think? True, or a sales pitch?

Will this work? Wanting to try out this new system soon...

Thanks for the replies guys. Only took a couple of hours too! And I am not sure why but the silver wiring is just as cheap as the copper wiring. 50 Feet is just $25 in 14 gauge and $30 for 50 feet in 12 gauge. All I know is I am not going to Walmart for ANYTHING this time! Last time all I got...

So then say I get a 4-Door standard car with lets say... 4x6 rear door speakers, 6x9 inch front door speakers, and an easily removable stock head unit to make the project even easier on me. How would you guys suggest I begin building a system for it? I listen too my stereo loud but not very loud...

Oh, also I was wondering about Boss Audios newer speakers and was wondering what you guys thought of them. Now I know a lot of people don't like Boss Audio, and I found out the hard way that their older series ****. But now I am seeing that they have done alright with their newer Onyx and...

I have no idea what I am doing... Please Help!!!

The system I am running now is blown but it works and actually still sounds nice with the exception of the lower volumes. Here is what it is (I was a noob and had my mechanic install it): Boss Audio Chaos Wired 600 Watt Max 2 Channel Amplifier (for a total of 150 RMS watts per channel) 2 x...

I have no idea what I am doing... Please Help!!!

I would rather not have to run two separate amps. Your talking about money and power I dont have. My Car is so old that when playing music at even a lower volume, the lights dim because the engine's power and the alternators efficiency are both pretty low. I mean I've almost hit 200K in miles on...
