Check the fs section I got a shallow mount low power Sq sub that would be awesome for what you want. Shallow mount as it has inverted neodymium magnet and would work great in about .55 cubic ft enclosure sealed.

According to the photo you linked (first one), the article states that it actually starts around 40yrs old. To me I can see around 40 but not 30's. The article goes into detail about the different types of hearing conditions. It also states that some are very rare and others are hereditary...

So the general consensus is that lower (subwoofer frequencies) do not affect your hearing as much? I would still like to see a longer term studios like say 25 years from now... I know home audio and meditation has all kinds of snake oils geared towards certain frequencies (Synergistic Research)...
