I have read on this site and also been told by several members on here who seem to know there stuff that you always fuse for the wires capacity not the draw so in your case 4g I would think would be much higher than 60 or 80amp. Just my .2

Don't be scared of muzzle flip from a .40. Go shoot one and I bet you won't even notice especially if that is what you practice with from the start. I think this might be a lil over exaggerated because most of the guys who shoot enough to really feel and notice the differences are competitive...
