    12" Fi Q Problem - Need Help

I had 2x Fi Q's playing out of a vented enclosure, powered by a AQ 2200d amplifier. The subwoofers have played fine until recently to where if the volume goes past a certain point, the subwoofer's volume is significantly lower and more distorted. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the ground...

    12" Fi Q's bottoming out?

I'll be honest, I don't listen to much hip hop music in the car UNLESS there are friends in there who basically just want to hear how loud the subwoofers can play. Most of the time I have the subwoofer output on the HU set to 0 which gives me just enough bass to not ruin other genres of music.

    12" Fi Q's bottoming out?

I had now set the SSF to around 30hz, the dial goes from 10hz to 50hz and I turned it to roughly in the middle. By the way, thanks for all the help.

    12" Fi Q's bottoming out?

Well there was a fair bit of rap songs that generally play lower than 30hz, this is purely going by ear and comparing to a test tone playlist on my Ipod in which I play music through. 30-39hz is the most ideal range and I can generally tell this in a song because my subwoofers hit the loudest...

    12" Fi Q's bottoming out?

2x 12" Fi Q's 4.0ft^3 Slot-Ported 32hz Box AQ 2200d Powering them. LPF(Not sure) and SSF(10hz) on the amplifier was maxed, because I'm controlling the subwoofer crossovers from the headunit which is a Kenwood KDC x991, crossed over at 50hz with a -12db/oct slope which only affects the higher...

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

I'll keep you updated if there is, I probably buy another driver anyway and if anything acts up with that one, I'll replace it ASAP.

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

That may be with a large amount of silicone caulk, the amount of caulk on the speaker is very little, the actual picture makes it seem to be more than it actually is. I couldn't see a large amount of harmful fumes or chemicals affecting the surround. If you could find the sources stating this...

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

Well, there shouldn't be any unusual chemical reaction from the silicone. I just searched alot of similar topics between this forum and SSA and most people recommended silicone caulk for the job. I don't understand what could go wrong as of now: 1) Movement hasn't been visibly restricted in...

I wouldn't say it mattered if the speaker is under a door panel anyway.

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

Haha, no it isn't pretty. I played around my maxing the excursion out on the subwoofer with my hand to see how well it would hold up. The slope of the surround is still retained, the cracks are no longer apparent at all even when the surround is moving, "should" work just fine.

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

I actually took some silicone caulk to the top and underside of it. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8585/dscn3205u.jpg After it dried I pressed on the cone a bit to make sure I was getting good movement from the surround and to make sure the crack wasn't redeveloping and so far everything...

Its actually a tear which seems to be from a puncture, Im honestly thinking of taking a small strip of electrical tape on both side.

    Torn Surround Rainbow SLC 6.5"

Took my 6.5"'s out to transfer them to another vehicle and found a small tear in the surround in one of them. I was wondering what I needed to do. I know nothing of reconing speakers, I couldn't find any 6.5" surround kits, would super glue or rubber cement work? Heres some pictures...
