    My in car measurements

Agreed. Especially on a phone eq. It ends up attenuating the signal. With my external eq I had to boost the bass. Factory system rolls it off. I used a multi meter to adjust eq and set gain. Basically trying to get as close to my target voltage from 25hz to 80 Hz. I'm sure that's not the best...

    My in car measurements

My source is Spotify from my phone via aux. Can't run Spotify over usb. Plus with aux, my phone has UHQ upscaler which sounds much better than Bluetooth. It also does have a built in 7 band eq and I've tried it, but I always end up just putting it back to flat. I'm actually pretty happy with...

    My in car measurements

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I do have eq, but only for my mid bass and subs. My dash speakers and tweeters are ran off the factory system. Just an educated guess, but I think my mid bass is playing up to around 200-300 hz where the dash speakers take over. I don't know the exact LP crossover...

    My in car measurements

Using a Dayton Audio imm-6 mic and my Galaxy s7 to take the measurements of pink noise. This is something that is pretty new for me. I took 2 screenshots. 1 with the bass knob all the way down, and one with it all the way up. In either case I'm peaking in the 44-47 Hz range. Cabin gain I guess...

    Passive crossover question

Cool. That's exactly what I needed to know.

    Passive crossover question

My system has 3 dash speakers. I turned the left and right side into 2way components. Center speaker is running without a tweeter. I have a 3rd identical crossover. Is it ok to connect the center speaker to the crossover without a tweeter connected to the crossover? I'd like the center speaker...

Rear door and rear pillar speakers

Dayton rs150p-4 is what I used. It's listed as a 6inch but it's more like a 5inch. I haven't done a signal sweep since I installed them. I'll try that tonight. They actually seem louder and more importantly cleaner than the stock speakers. But I'm getting a little bit of that beaming effect. Not...

Rear door and rear pillar speakers

Rear doors are definitely band pass filtered. Just doing some signal sweeps with the door open and my head in front of the speaker, they seem to play from about 250hz to around 8khz

Rear door and rear pillar speakers

Just going to let the Bose amp power those speakers. Rear doors get about 20 watts each. Cargo speakers get about 15 watts each. According to the Bose people. I already had some Dayton Audio paper reference speakers they where the perfect size so I threw them in last night. Sounds better than...

Rear door and rear pillar speakers

I have all Dayton Audio up front. If I'll go full range I'll just stick with Dayton. I'm just thinking coax may be a better option. Then again, it may also make things to bright

Rear door and rear pillar speakers

The vehicle is a Mazda cx5. Rear doors have 5 1/4 speakers and play from about 250hz to around 8khz from what I can tell. And 3inchers in rear pillar cargo area are for surround effect. But again are going to play the higher frequencies. I'm debating weather or not to use full range speakers in...

    8 inch woofers in doors

The mid bass is ran active with eq. The rest of the speakers in the car are ran off the Bose amp. But I did swap the 3 dash speakers with Daytons as well as making the left and right dash speakers into components by adding a passive crossover and tweeters in the pillars. The car didn't have any...

    8 inch woofers in doors

The cool thing about my doors is there is no gaps. The large hole that usually is covered by a clear plastic sheet has an abs plastic cover that is bolted to the door skin. Came like this from the factory. Because of this I do get pretty good sound. But the factory Bose woofers are just so so...

    8 inch woofers in doors

Well I wanted 50hz. But now I'm thinking that's not going to happen as long as my door is the enclosure. I'm pretty sure I'd need a ported box for that kind of mid bass. So here's my next question. 150 watts rms, 8mm xmax,86db speaker. Or 80watt rms, 6mm xmax, 91db speaker. I have the power for...

    8 inch woofers in doors

What should I realistically be looking to crossover at? 80hz?
