I've got a 2009 Toyota Camry aftermarket system with a component system in front , 6x9's in back, 1 12' sub, and 2 amps. I've got that whining noise that seems to be coming from the alternator. It worsens when I turn on the headlights. The noise is still there even when the deck is turned off...

No there was not sound deadening material installed.

I believe so. The speakers aren't visible since they were installed underneath the door panels just like the factory speakers were. The tweeters are installed underneath the grills on the dash.

I had these awful Infinity reference speakers with super harsh highs. I took those out and replaced them with the polk db series 6 1/2' component system in the front and 6x9's in the rear. These sound a lot better but for some reason I"m not completely sold on them. To me they seem to be missing...

I have a JL Audio 320x4 rull range 4 channel amp that powers 2 6x9 9622i Infinity speakers and an Infinity 6020cs component system in front. I'm gonna be switching the speakers to Polk because of the harsh highs they have. I know infinities are known for having harsh highs but I'm also wondering...

Yeah I've got a JL Audio 320x4 rull range 4 channel amp that I'm using right now for the Infinity speakers.

I will be taking out my Infinity speakers with these harsh sounding highs. The stereo shop said they could swap them for these Polk DB691 and DB651 speakers plus a pair of tweeters of my choice. Should I be a lot better off making this switch?

On crutchfield.com I see 39 people gave the alipine sps-600 speakers 5 stars...probably can't go wrong with those either

Would you recommend Polk over alpine, pioneer, or kenwood?

I'm gonna try adjusting the amp first to see if I can get the sound any better...if not than my next step is to go back to the stereo shop and exchange them for the Polk speakers. From the sounds of it I doubt that adjusting the amp would do any good. Thanks for the info.

yeah that's exactly what I'm experiencing with those infinity's. The stereo shop also had Polk speakers that I was considering. Are those any good? If not then maybe I should try to find Blaupunkt again since those would probably be a sure bet.
