    Sub channel blown or??

The sub is brand new out of the box. Is it safe to connect the sub (rms 250w) to a channel pushing out 55w rms?

    Length of battery cable matters?

Right, voltage drop is what I’m concerned about. The wire kit is the Rockford Fosgate 8 AWG amp kit.

    Length of battery cable matters?

Precisely that is why I considered keeping it the original length. The amp is an SK-M9005D 55W x 4 RMS 300w x 1 RMS Will length of cable be a factor?

    Head unit = Black screen

Installed a Pioneer MVH-200EX Occassionally when I turn on the car, the screen is black. The buttons are illuminated, and I can tell the screen is on, it is just all black. The sound/music works. If I unplug the head unit for 10 seconds and plug it back in, the screen works again, but then it...

    Sub channel blown or??

Just installed a brand new Skar SK-M9005D 5 channel amp. Channels 1-4 work great, however the sub is not working. I’m getting identical voltage and ohms at the speakers of all 4 channels, but the voltage and ohms are bouncing around on the 5th channel at the wires directly out of the amp. Is...

    Length of battery cable matters?

Should I trim the (+) battery cable to the amp once installed or can I leave the full length cable (additional 10ft) coiled together and tucked away? Does length of the cable matter?

    3-way speakers have less bass??

Ah okay, makes sense. So a midrange driver won’t have more punchy bass than a 3-way speaker? My front doors have two plugs, so I can easily connect a midrange driver into one, and a 2” tweeter into the other... Will that produce more bass than a single 3-way speaker?

    3-way speakers have less bass??

I guess I’m asking, do 2-way speakers have more punchy bass than 3-way speakers?

    3-way speakers have less bass??

Since 3-way speakers have an additional tweeter, does some power get channeled to this extra tweeter? As opposed to 2-way speakers, which will have more power going to the main woofer since there isn’t an additional tweeter to rob power??

Help - Need to connect 1 sub to 5th channel

Oh ok, so you are saying to twist together the two (+) and the two (-), then connect each pair to each terminal on the subwoofer? Thanks for clarifying.

Help - Need to connect 1 sub to 5th channel

Thank you for posting that, however I think the image is cut off? Also, the part of the image showing the speaker wires, shows only two wires... There are four coming out of my amp (for just the 5th channel). I should just connect two wires and leave the other two unplugged (capped off), in...

Help - Need to connect 1 sub to 5th channel

I’m trying to connect a Skar Audio SK-M9005D (5 channel amp) to four speakers and a single SVC subwoofer. The 5th channel has 4 wires (2 blue and 2 yellow). How to connect those four wires to the two terminals on the sun to get a 4 ohm setup?
