    phoenix gold vs alpine (5ch)

I'm thinking about buying a 5 channel amp and was looking at the Phoenix Gold Octane-R 9.0:5 and the Alpine MRV-F450 V12. I have an alpine Head Unit (9815) and 2 sets of Boston Accoustic 6.5 components and plan to get a 10" sub, maybe the JL stealth box and sub for my GTI. I've done the multi...

    Wiring a '96 4Runner

My 95 4Runner has a hole to the left of the brake up above where the dead pedel would be with wires going through it. It has a rubber stopper-like thing that surrounds the wires. That hole opened up enough to get 1 guage wire through and still utilized the rubber stopper. not a 96 but maybe...

adding midbass- how and is it worth it?

I already have Boston Acousitc comps in the factory location in my car and I'm thinking about adding a pair of 8" kicker rmb8's b/c of their mounting depth in the doors. I had mb quart 3-way comps in my 4Runner and loved the sound. Would it be worth adding the midbass to my new car...

A little fiberglass help please, my first time.

I mean how hard does the fleece need to be? it still gives a little when I poke it but it's hard when I tap my finger nails on it. Is it supposed to be solid? Thanks guys for all you help, really appreciate it.

A little fiberglass help please, my first time.

Yeah, it's in the 50's - 60's right now in Northern VA. I used a space heater while I was doing it but I don't think it was heating it up enough. The resin/hardener calls for 1/8 oz hardener per 16 oz resin. I'll mix up some more with more hardener and do what you said. Thanks a lot for the...

A little fiberglass help please, my first time.

I need some more help... I've got the fleece stretched and coated with resin/hardener. 1) It's been a looong time and still isn't hard. Is it supposed to get hard hard or just hard enough to lay the fiber glass down (it's still flimsy but it's rough/gooey to touch)? 2) I soaked the hell out...

A little fiberglass help please, my first time.

The box is more of a wedge shape so there isn't really a back to leave off-- all sides will be touching glass. The only way to get to the inside would be through the speaker hole-- the same principles apply when going from the front right, just a lot of sanding in the end? thanks for the help...

A little fiberglass help please, my first time.

I've got the box design planned. The back will be MDF and the front will be fiberglass. I've got resin, hardener, and mat on the way. I know I need to stretch fleece to all of the MDF surfaces and then coat it with resin/hardener mixture. Then what? soak the strips of glass in the mixture...
