    subs overrated?

Just installed (2) AW100Q, same series just 10". I'd say they are fairly rated, Im putting 200w to each sub, rated for 400w rms, and they are begging for more juice. Some love audiobahn, some hate em, but I'm very impressed. If you want SPL at a budget price, these things are VERY VERY LOUD. I...

why do people screw boxes together...

Yup, gotta agree with more_spl. Simply gluing the box would never work because the screws hold the box together tightly while the glue dries, and if you removed the screws, well it'd eventually blow apart with any decent sub(s). Now, I do have some "glue" that will hold very well, after drying...

    Quick question - ported box.

Just an update..... Box is built, ports are tuned, subs installed, and to be honest, I'm impressed. These are low end audiobahns, and the general consensus is they **** for SQ, but they're not half bad. On the SPL side of things, they are LOUD, VERY LOUD. I didn't expect this, but hey, it's a...

    Best Subs Period!!!!

I know a guy who bought a 15"(i think 15", not certain) tumult, but he's using it for a home theater sub. He's still building the cabinet for it.

Port on front, back, top, or side?

Wheres the best place to put a port, or does it matter? I've heard putting the port on the least obstructed side is best, and in this case would be the top(though all sides are unobstructed really). Any suggestions? Box is built, silicone has cured, and it's almost show time . Also, I'm...

    Quick question - ported box.

hmmm now that you mention it, a slot port would be easier with a common chamber. I'll look into that. If it's within my ability, I'll go for it. Thanks again.

    Quick question - ported box.

Wonderbread - thank you sir for the help . I'm planning to use 2 3"dia round ports, proper length for 33hz... that ok?

    Quick question - ported box.

Just to be clear, 1.6 cuft total volume, or per sub? 33hz would be right for an SPL box? Seems I was way off, but thats why we seek advice from those that know . One last thing, just out of pure curiosity, why use a common chamber?

    Quick question - ported box.

Hi guys. I'll be building a ported box for 2 audiobahn 10" this weekend, and I have a question. The Vas for this particular sub is .85 cuft, displacement is .10, which gives .95cuft per chamber. Since I'm porting this box, should I increase the cuft per chamber? Would appreciate some numbers ...

Audiobahn 10" Excursion or 10" kicker Comp VR?

Aha! Replies! Thanks for the input guys. Jeremy jl fan, you mention the one thing I hadn't suggested to him, silly me. I'll run that idea by him, and see what he says. Keep the ideas rolling though, love to hear thoughts/opinions.

Audiobahn 10" Excursion or 10" kicker Comp VR?

Hello Gents(and any ladies that may be present). I'm doing an install for a friend, and it's a "budget system". He has good components, and a nice head unit in place, now he just needs some bump. He's an SPL kinda guy, and isn't too concerned with accurate lows, at present. He has narrowed his...

    Need box dimensions!

Hi guys, Im in need of your expertise. A friend is giving me 2 15" Audiobahn subs, not the best I know but they are free. I need to build a box this weekend, but I'm not too good with WinISD yet. I'd prefer ported, I plan to push the full RMS. Would you guys be willing to help me out? The subs...
