Hi all, I didn't see a technical forum so I'm posting my situation here, hope I can get some input on what you people think is the culprit. A few days ago I had my heater on at night, it was a little over 60 degrees and I wanted my windows open while I drive.. I'll say I had the headunit...

    Question on sub size

Good info, ok, so if you guys were to do this to your vehicle would you build a porter box for the two 10s or go with a single 13 ported? Two 10 would be cheaper cuz we already of the subs but would the low end bass be great..? Also, a 13w6v2 in a ported box would be severly over powered by a...

    Question on sub size

My current subwoofer setup consist of 2-10w6v2 powered by 1000/1v2 jl amplifier. I want deeper bass, not any tightercuz that sh*t gives me a headache. Options are add another 10w6v2 using the same power supply so approximately 350 watts rme per speaker or remove all subs and install a 13w6v2...

JL 450/4v2 vs JL 600/4 HD

I never had any sort of noise from the 300/4v2 amp and the HD600/4 sound about the same to me but my speakers do really like the extra 75 watts and I have a fuller sound with deeper midbass from my speakers.

JL 450/4v2 vs JL 600/4 HD

I was recently in the market for a 450/4v2 to upgrade from my 300/4v2 but I was told by 3 different JL dealers that the 450 slash amp was discontinued. So I went with the JL 600/4 HD.

    4-channel crossover settings

with nearly 800 post from your account I would have assumed you know a thing or two about setting frequencies.. well, anyways.. I'd start off with HPF for both front and rear, around 80 hz for the front and 100 hz on the rear.. If you're over powering those front speakers it should sound...

    Which Amp?

I'd say get the 5 channel that way you could high pass the speakers and low pass the subwoofer..

    One amp or two?

subs first then amp.... If your in a tight budget then research both prior to buying - what vehicle are you installing this system in?

    Focal Component Selection

I agree with the lower line Focal's tweeters being unbearably harsh on the ears but the higher end sound amazing, especially when you give them the rated power.. they do get bright if you underpower them (or so it seems in my vehicle; that's why I got the 300/4 bridged running only the front...

    Bridged Amp, question

I bridged it to hear how more power would affect the speaker's sound and dynamics. The reason I turned the gain down is because it was playing as loud as before with the gain all the way down. I put a volt meter to it today and noticed that even at the lowest setting the voltage was above what...
