Our industry has been hit hard with job losses too. So when jobs open up like this, where should we post them? Anyone interested can apply online at Pep Boys in the careers section, just search for 12 Volt. . . . but should there be a job section to make the process easier for people looking...

    Alarm issues

Yeah, the trick is you always have to have the system loaded down (running, turned on, etc.) to see the voltage drop. Glad to be of assistance.

What type of adhesive does everybody use for their boxes?

So, I'm a bit of a woodworking on top of being a car audio fanatic and my Wood Magazine (May 2009) has an awesome article about wood glues. But the bottom line is: Type-3 wood glue [like Titebond and Elmers] holds up the best and Equals epoxy [or Gorilla Glue] without the mess. BTW, I have...

    Some Electrical problems.. help needed

Based on the information above, your friend is running two 8 Ohm subs wired in parallel (4 ohm) and bridged to the amp (4 Ohm Bridged . . . yes 2 Ohms per channel is what the amp "sees"). As good as it gets for that setup.

    Alarm issues

These symptoms are likely the cause of a power or ground issue. If you have a meter, connect its power and ground terminals directly to the component you are testing ie. the alarm brain or siren . . . watch the volt reading while you are operating the alarm. You should not see more than a 1/2...

    Ways to ruin an amp???

Absolutely possible, however most amplifiers on the market today have built-in protection to save the amp should the speaker leads short. Hook up Batt. power, ground, and remote turn on to the amp, if the protection light comes on . . . the amp is damaged . . . if not, he's has a bad speaker...
