For a tiny box... Tang Band W8740 8" or JL Audio 6w3-4 6.5"

I am not going with either…after weeks of research I think the magic sub for me and this box will be the Alpine Type R 8". Will work in .15 cubic feet, handles lots of power and should go deeper than the JL 6.5". Oh and cheaper. Don't have anything in the rear deal, can't cut the rear deck...

For a tiny box... Tang Band W8740 8" or JL Audio 6w3-4 6.5"

You may have seen my other thread. Small box under the rear seat of a 1976 BMW. Its a sealed box with .15 cubic feet of space. It was designed with the JL Audio 6w3 in mind. I wanted a little more volume and maybe a little deeper bass so I was thinking of putting an 8" driver in it and the...

Small vintage car, stealth build 6.5" sub or 8" sub? Or???

Not too many options for this car, so I am having a box made to fit under the rear seat that still allow full functionality. Problem is the space is very limited and the box size is .15 cubic feet. Its designed for the JL Audio 6w3v3-4 subwoofer. Im concerned it will be loud enough...

Any experience with/opinions on the Polk PA 1100.5 Amp?

I can get this new on sale for $400. It looks like an awesome amp. My last car system I built I used an Audison LRX6.9 amp and it was about $1000...it looks to have near identical specs...so I am probably gonna buy it. I am using a Nakamichi CD500 head unit, and will be getting some good...

    Free Air Install?

OK I am installing a system in my 1976 BMW. Its got room in the rear deck for an 8" sub. The trunk is COMPLETELY sealed from the interior. The rear wall is used for chassis stiffness...kind of a unibody design. BUT I am reading that its not the best sound. I do not want to install boxes or...

Need advice on a system for a classic BMW

OK...so looks like the 6x9s are seeming like a no go. I was thinking for rear fill I would need some sound from the back...maybe just a decent set of 6.5 coax for the mids and highs and rear fill? I am just not sure that the door speakers with the mid driver near my feet will be enough mids...

Need advice on a system for a classic BMW

Really? I was thinking the 6x9s would provide more low end that than 6.5s components in the doors and I could do without the sub. But maybe not....thats why I am here looking for advice. So you would do just 2 channels in the doors and a 8" in the rear deck? The kind of sound I am looking...

Need advice on a system for a classic BMW

I have a 1976 BMW 2002 and I am building my system. I have Nakamichi CD500 deck. In the doors I plan on 6.5 2 way components and 6x9s in the rear deck. My question is can I do this and get good sound from the deck only? If not, can I add a 4 channel amp and drive the speakers and get nice bass...

Component speakers to run off HU (no amp)

I was told that Boston Acoustics are very efficient and great for systems without an amp.
