Budget Bass Build Suggestions for Christmas

He actually should fine on stock electrical. My friend who has the 10's version runs them on 1200 watts RMS no problem, even at idle. He has a stock and original 90 amp alternator in a 19 year old car with a basic battery. The subs won't be getting 1200 watts most of the time anyways due to...

Budget Bass Build Suggestions for Christmas

I would get the D4S JP8, it can do 1200 watts RMS at 1 ohm on the dyno. However your budget will go higher than $300 if you buy woofers and a box to accommodate for this power. A decent box is gonna cost you over $100, even if you build it yourself. So I'd just spend the money to get a...

Amplifier Cutting Out, but No Voltage Drop

Yeah, it's what I thought it was, but I wanted to make sure it was actually that. I'll get to fixing it when I have the time soon. Thank you guys

Amplifier Cutting Out, but No Voltage Drop

Hi, I have a Sundown Audio SIA-2500 running 2 American Bass XR's wired at 2 ohms to the amplifier. The amplifier sometimes cuts out randomly for a second here and there at higher volumes and I really doubt its pushing the 2500 watts it's supposed to at 2 ohm (even accounting for impedance...

Difficulty With Box Build For American Bass XR 10's

Yeah I thought that I could put a single 12 in there, but it would be a little oversized I feel. I wish I had the T/S parameters because I don't really know for this sub. Is it still worth building this box for 2 10s if a single 12 might beat it in this size?

Difficulty With Box Build For American Bass XR 10's

I've started to hate planning my build for 2 American Bass 10's that will go behind my seat of my wrangler. This design idea is that it they can be played while the rear seat is still there, so I made the box at more of an angle than the seat is so there a bit of room back there for the sub...

    10" Inch Subwoofer Recommendations

I'm looking to spend just under or about $400 on a pair of 10's. I have 3 cubic feet of internal volume available on a custom ported box I will build according to the sub I end up choosing. I would say I'm looking for sound quality, but I'm also looking for really high volume too. I'm currently...

    Anything else I need?

An oscilloscope if you dont have a clipping indicator of some sorts. It can be the difference of your subs lasting weeks versus years. A multimeter is good if your amp has headroom (or extra power you don't plan on using), but it won't indicate if your amplifier is sending a distorted signal

10" American Bass XR or 10" Skar SDR

Thanks for the helpful info. To be honest I think I'll get it, its the clipping light on the knob that really sells me. Pretty hard to fry subs like that, and I don't have to use my o-scope if I decide to change the tuning. Just out of curiosity though, what caused your other SFB amps to fail?

10" American Bass XR or 10" Skar SDR

Wow thanks for the detail. I'm working with a Wrangler that has very little space behind the seat. I figured I'd run a ported box with flared PVC tube(s) as the port. I can squeeze 3 cubes of internal volume out of it (not including sub and port displacement), but sadly 4th order is out of the...

10" American Bass XR or 10" Skar SDR

Just curious, why don't people like Skar? I don't really like them because I know theirs warranties are bad, but I don't have real experience with them. Do they not last, are they inefficient? Just trying to gain knowledge.

10" American Bass XR or 10" Skar SDR

I don't really know much about CT sounds but the price difference is really close to the American Bass, not sure which one I should pick in this instance. Do you think my electrical could even handle 2k+ watts (after factoring in inefficiencies)? You've recommended me a Sundown SIA in a...

10" American Bass XR or 10" Skar SDR

Hi, I'm currently running a 117 stock alternator and a decent battery (Redtop Optima). I already have a 4 channel amp running 100 RMS x 4 and I'm thinking about upgrading my subs. I'm planning to build a box for 2 10's with 3 cubic feet of internal volume. I've narrowed down my choices for subs...

    Two 12s or a single L7 12" Q Class

Wow that 70% sounds really nice, I would be running crazy stuff if I had the space with that discount. But kicker gear varies for me. The more expensive stuff seems to be about 37% off and the cheaper Comp R's are about 50% off. So the 15" Comp Q runs me $271. That's also why I asked about...
