Searching an amp for my Sundown X8 D4

If you want it to play only 30 Hz and under, then you would set the LPF to 30 Hz. If you want it to play only 30 Hz, then you would set the LPF and HPF at 30 Hz (assuming your amp has the ability to do so).

You won't notice a difference. The amp will only play frequencies below the low pass filter setting, which is typically set around 80 Hz. This is well within the ranges listed.

because you can wire two dual 4 ohm subs to 1 ohm. get an amp that does 600 at 2 ohm and 1200 at 1 ohm. this will future proof you for the moment when you decide that one sub just isn't cutting it.

Subs - 350w in cabin vs. 600w in trunk

2 10s in the trunk will be much louder than 1 8 in the cabin. The trunk setup will have nearly 3 times as much cone area and twice as much power. It will be louder, even if you are losing some of the sound.

    Good amp for under 300

US Acoustics Mike. SSA has it for $269. If I didn't catch a deal on a Zed Minotaur, this is the amp I would have bought.

looking to buy new amp 1000-2000 true rms.

Have you checked the classifieds? Your money will go a lot further on equipment that isn't brand new.

Who's planning on something new 2016???

I was planning on just a new amp and sub, but my amp doesn't fit in the same spot as my old one does, so now I have to run new wiring. I might just take the opportunity to start over.

    US Acoustics

Thanks for the reply. Would you do the Twisted Sounds 1.3k over the US Acoustics Mike, which is 1500 RMS? Right now, they are the same price. I have stock electrical right now, but I'm running a 750W RMS amp right now, and it only drops a tenth or two at full tilt. The stock wiring is all 4...

    US Acoustics

Does anyone have feedback on the US Acoustics amps that SSA has on its site? I thought about grabbing the Mike that SSA has on sale right now, but I can't find much user feedback on it, so I would appreciate any input that everyone might have on the brand. Right now, I only have a single...

    DVC power ratings?

Why would you buy a sub with two voice coils then only use one?

    Question: 2 10" or one 12" sundown?

In my case, I went from 2 10s sealed on 600w RMS to 1 10 ported on 600w RMS, and the sealed pair of 10s moved so much more air than the single 10 does. I'm not talking about a ton of power here, but I loved being able to feel the music, and I just don't get that out of the single 10.

    Question: 2 10" or one 12" sundown?

The quality will certainly be better, but it will probably not sound louder to you. You will be running the same power, but with less cone area. I went from two cheap subs to one nicer sub while running the same amount of power, and I am disappointed with the outcome. The sound quality is...

    Sundown sa-10d4 questions

I thought the SA was very muddy and slow when I first bought it. As it started to loosen up, it definitely got more accurate. When I first set it up, I was actually able to discern the sub falling behind the music coming out of my door speakers, but now the timing is spot on in the same enclosure.

SSA ICON Review. ish. More of SA VS Icon.

Awesome review. I've been thinking of switching to an ICON from an SA. The SA gets loud, but I would like something with more accuracy and handles transitions a bit better.

Impressive budget build, S275 invested, 145+ db, 1 sub

How did he manage to get a head unit, sub, amp, box, and wiring for $275? The head unit, sub, amp, and box should have cost at least $200 each.
