Single Alpine Type R 12" Ported Box Design. Feedback Pleease?

After some long hours of research and designing, I think I am finally ready to start building the enclosure for my alpine 12" type R sub. I took into account the factory recommendations when designing this box. The outer dimensions are 24" wide x 13.5" deep x 13.5" long. Built with 3/4" MDF. It...

    Need New Amp. Advice?

The factory amp in my car recently broke, and I don't have a clue what kind to get. I run 4 Alpine type R 6x8 door speakers, and an Alpine type R 12" sub (4 ohm). I have about $300 to spend, and would be willing to buy used. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Need amp suggestions

I need an amp to power two sets of Alpine SPR68 6x8 coaxial door speakers. They have a 100W max rms. Trying to keep it around $300. Will be used with a stock Ford head unit for now, but will eventually be upgraded to an Alpine CDE-123 CD receiver.

    Alpine in-dash with two 5"x7"s?

I got the door panel part down, I did it today just to look at the stock speakers. The thing I'm worried about is having to cut the wiring.

    Alpine in-dash with two 5"x7"s?

Would I be able to install these myself without too much trouble? And is that a decent head unit?

    Setup using a Sony receiver?

Thanks wenn. and I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer. Corporate double din deck size, front speakers are 6"x8" 2.5" deep, rears are 6"x8" 3" deep. The sub is 8", 4" deep. Hope that helps. One more thing, what is the difference between a stereo receiver and a CD receiver?

    Setup using a Sony receiver?

Ok, I was thinking Sony because its a little cheaper, and I've heard they make decent receivers. Anyway, lets say I have about $300 to spend on a receiver, and rear speakers. Then later down the road, $400 on an amp and sub/subs (preferably a 10" or 8" sub.)

    Setup using a Sony receiver?

I was thinking about buying a Sony receiver (model cdx-gt565up) but I couldn't find any reviews on it, so I was wondering if anyone here had used one before. If so, it would be cool if someone could tell me a little more about it than what's on the website. I'm pretty new to car audio, so I was...
