Oh ok didnt know that. But either way they are the same company. The x50 is actually a higher rated detector than the 995. If you guys want unbiased test reviews check out this site. These guys own like one if not two of each detector (at least the good ones)...

Its basically a radar jammer right? That is illegal in every state under Federal law. Laser jammers are legal in most states. Illegal here in IL but Im still gonna get one.

Obviously your friend is just biased toward the price. Beltronics and Escort are one company. The 9500i is very interesting but price is holding me back. V1 is also good but it falses much more than the X50 but it has its advantages at laser detection but isnt that what laser jammers are for lol.

Alright someone needs to really explain to me what this clean sweep will do? I understand better sound quality. How would I wire it up? How would I be able to control volume/bass boost?

Dont buy off ebay because those are refurbished ones and will break down fast. I say save some money and buy a good rd. It pays for it self (trust me). I currently have the Escort 8500 X50 and it has literally paid for it self many times already. I have the blue one which costs $50 more...

Looked it up, thats way out of my price range. Is there a more affordable solution? Again not going for all out killer sound, just some extra thump.

Ok I understand that part. Im thinking you didnt fully understand my question. I want to be able to control the sub volume/bass boost w.e. it is. How would I go about that? Is there like a remote bass boost remote or a sub volume remote or something of that nature?

Alright but where can I get such a remote and would it also control my rear speakers seeing as it is tapping into the rear speakers?

Is there anything else I can put in so I can keep my stock deck and still be able to control the sub/amp? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Mayur
