    Rear fade--possible?

Ok, it's a done deal. I went to Radio Shack and bought four 1ohm resistors (10W) per speaker. In series, that's 4ohms in line resistance, giving me 3dB less sound, which was exactly what I needed--and half the price of the L-pads.

    Rear fade--possible?

L-pads don't appear to be anything like bass blockers. The most generic term for them would be volume control. Check out the link on the first page that describes L-pads in more detail. Maylar, thanks for the incredibly informative post. I didn't realize, but some of the information you gave...

    Rear fade--possible?

After staring at that page for awhile, it seems fine for fixed output setups, but near the beginning it says "The position of the sliding terminal is determined by the position of the volume knob on the l-pad." Nowhere in the article does it talk about the construction of a "volume knob". Help?

    Rear fade--possible?

Mark, that won't work, because my front and rear speakers are both running off of my front channel output of my amp, (I'm running a different pair of speakers off of my rear channel output)--unless you're being sarcastic

    Rear fade--possible?

Thanks for the reply, wonderbread. I am a newbie, but not that new--what you told me is obvious to me. I'm thinking about finding a couple 1 ohm resistors, and putting them in series with the rear speakers to attenuate their sound (of course, I would have to find some that are rated at the...

    Rear fade--possible?

Not sure exactly how these questions apply--but I have a 5 channel amp. I do have three pre-outs on my deck, as well as 3 inputs on my amp. Right now, the front channel is for my four speakers mentioned above. The rear channel is for two more speakers that are being used for mid/bass range...

    Rear fade--possible?

Yes, I want my rear speakers a little quieter.

    Rear fade--possible?

I want to know if this is possible and how it would work. I am running identical front and rear speakers in parallel off of my amp. So right now, my front/rear fade is "locked". Is there any way to even get the rear speakers to fade--even 1 or 2 dB?

    Which online store

I would order from Zeb or Ike's, but like I said I have my heart set on that PPI, and those two online stores don't carry PPI. I plan on buying in about a month or so, I have no cash right now. But thanks for the advice, if anyone has more feedback, please post.

    Which online store

That topic WAS part of my research. There was only one on my list that I found on yours (there actually was more, but I didn't put them on here, because they were ones with negative reviews). That one was carstereotime. It looks decent, but I was still looking for more solid information--I...

    Which online store

Okay, I've done my research, but I still need some help. I have my heart set on the PPI PCX-5800 5 channel amp, and want to buy it online. I've compiled a list of stores with decent prices for the amp, please let me know which are good or bad to buy from... purecaraudio (best price, at $480)...

    Phase Control?

That setting would be the same as swapping your + and - wires going to the speakers. Normally, when your sub would be pushing out from the box, it makes it so it is in to the box.
