In terms of both pure skull-smashing output and sound quality, you really can't beat the JL ZR800's, especially if run no higher than 250-500Hz as part of a 3-way setup. I really, really regret selling my pair and am looking for another pair.

If the amps are hidden behind the boards, why do they need to be the latest / greatest? No need to expense out the cost to replace the amps each time a new model comes out. *shrug*

The only real "gotta have" I would recommend would be twisted pair cables, like the Knukonceptz Karma SS. Twisted pair will help with noise rejection. Other than that, they're all pretty much the same.

what model of amp? What gauge of power wire? What's the fuse size on the power wire? How are you grounding it? What Ohm load is the amp seeing?

Depends on the amp. Depends on the speaker. Depends on the install. Depends on the gain settings and source being fed to the amp. In other words, there's too many variables, but you won't damage the amp, just the speaker potentially.

Use a relay and key it off of the remote wire for your amps. Use it to open / close the ground for the voltage display. That's what I did with my Knukonceptz distro block with the voltage display.

Focal 165V2S comps. Rated for 75 RMS and they're running on 200 RMS each from my Punch75. They sound fantastic!
