    radio wont sound

Start from scratch...remove all the wiring, carefully/perhaps disconnect the battery so you don't have more problems, and start again. If you're worried about or know the wiring is wrong why screw around with it.

Putting together a garage system with 6x9s and a deck, need help.

A friend of mine, this was back in the late 70's, built a box and installed a pair of 6x9's, a head unit and a 12v to 120 power converter. He placed in on the fireplace mantle and it sounded quite good. The speakers had individual chambers so the bass was pretty good.

    Next step but need advice

Thanks for all the input. I've learned that the tuning/eq that seemed to be a part of the fix system is actually an additional system...the Tun system...I must have missed it on the JL site but I thought there was a tuning via software/laptop but only with the tun system which would double the...

    Next step but need advice

Hi all, I'm thinking about replacing the PAC-SNI15 basic line output converter with the JL Audio FiX82 converter to better fine tune and get the most out of my system. System: 2017 Honda CRV EX with factory head unit, PAC converter, JL Audio XD400/4v2 4 channel amp...front channels to front...

Suggest me speakers for my car..

HU = Head Unit...radio...stereo...etc. hp xover = high pass cross over...sets the crossover, in hertz, to limit the signal sent to speakers...There is also lp, low pass crossovers...rough description, if the speakers can't handle signal below 80hz, hertz, you can set the crossover, high pass...

Suggest me speakers for my car..

I don't understand what your describing. If you have no place to install front speakers...there are no locations where factory speakers were installed in the front of the vehicle?...you will most likely be better served by installing a good pair of speakers in the rear deck location under the...

Foam on my Speakers keep tearing

You don't offer much in the way of info if you are expecting much in the way of helpful suggestions. I'm not an expert by any stretch but doing a googly search on the head unit and jbl speakers I see that the head unit is rated for 4ohms and the speakers are rated at 2ohms. Is this perhaps a...

Foam on my Speakers keep tearing

LOL a reasonable question is asked and within a couple of posts the old biddies brigade show up and start chirping at each other. I often have to check to make sure I'm on the Car Audio Forum instead of the gollywood b ithches c unt f art at each other site...

Am I "wasting" money on these speakers? Or investing well?

I have the C5's components in my CRV and love them. To my ears they are great. I didn't pay msrp...ask your shop to do better or go shopping around. Generally the major brands have similar sounding speakers in similar sound ranges...big differences can be some types of materials...I prefer silk...

Have you contacted Cruthfield's support? Perhaps they sent the wrong one for the model of your vehicle.

A touchscreen headunit for my Corolla?

If you want a touchscreen device the double dins are quite nice. A double din will/should fit your vehicle but there is more to it. Go to any vehicle stereo site and you will learn a lot. Most will show you what exactly will fit your vehicle. Single or double din refers to the physical size of...

How many people have hearing problems?

Some high frequency hearing loss in both ears. My hearing is tested annually because I work in a paper mill so I get a nice graph showing how my hearing is working in a variety of frequencies starting from the baseline when I started in '05. I think most of my hearing loss came from all the...

    Help debugging boat stereo issue.

Have you inspected the system? Have you checked the wiring from the head unit to each speaker for loose connections, faulty grounding, incorrect wiring, etc.? What is your system like? Are you running all the speakers (3 pair total?) off the head unit itself? if so, how? If not are you using an...
