If I use ported box, would it make a big difference? If I flip down the rear seat, the sound of the subwoofer is awesome but not on normal condition. The problem is not on the amp, but the sub, don't you think so?

Hi all, there is two choices in front of me and I would like to upgrade my subwoofer. Right now, I'm running Alpine PDX 1.1000 for my Focal 27V2 subwoofer. I feel the subwoofer is lack of power, but surely it has nice sound and accuracy. I often play funk jazz, easy listening as well as hip hop...

I recommend you to keep your W6's or if you want to sell it, I might take it... LOL... IMHO, even W6 sounds better than the type-X even though type-x has way much power than the W6. W6 can handle about 500-600 at the best. If you want to swap your sub, I recommend you to go with Fi or TC...

The W7 has 750W RMS, if I'm not mistaken so I don't think you want to underpower them. I had a single Alpine Type-X that carried 1000W RMS and I powered it with my PDX 1.1000. In fact, they're awesome. Small amp with huge power. I think you would consider the PDX 1.1000 to run your W7. Higher...

Thanks for voting in this thread. I don't have any porblem with the pricing espcially with those new brand (to me) has very reasonable price compare to Alpine and JL. It seems that most people voted for Fi Q and JL W6V2 in other forums as well. I will keep this poll active to hear more from you...
