1100=14*78 at formula I came up with amp draw of around 78. Then divide that by .6 for a total of 46.8. Is that correct? Man that would be a constant draw? if playing at full throttle. Would need a bigger alt if I did the math right.

You were right on the money about the ground. I already had it grounded to the battery but apparently cable wasn't thick enough. added a 2nd ground and thumping stopped. Can turn gain all the way up now if I want. If I bought a new amp I would probably blow these kenwoods now?
