New Install. Three Problems. Please Help!

The wire is extremely thin. I didn't realize it until later. I would hate to run a new wire, but will if need be. I unplugged and reconnected all wires on the amp 3 days ago (with an exception of the inverted wires on my front left which I fixed yesterday). I haven't had an issue since. I...

New Install. Three Problems. Please Help!

Well I'm an idiot. I believe I solved most of problem #2 . When I went to test resistance the night before last, I inverted polarity on my front left speaker. They are much more similar in volume now. Should I be concerned about the right tweeter resistance? it is 0.3 ohms lower than the left.

New Install. Three Problems. Please Help!

12.3V with the vehicle off. How do I test it with it on (with a multimeter)? Do I just put the probes against the power and ground while plugged into the amp (at low volumes)? Yeh I never touched the headunit. The cables have been installed for 6 months. All I did was plug them in. I can't...

New Install. Three Problems. Please Help!

Sorry to keep posting. I am at a loss. I recently installed an external amplifier, wires, and speakers. I installed a headunit, RCAs, and the remote wire in January. The headunit has performed flawlessly. After installing the amplifier, I had an issue where my mid drivers were not playing. After...

4 ohm Speakers measuring 0.5 ohms before crossover? What?

Thank you for the fast reply. It is possible, however they are new speakers and can handle more than the amp can push. I think I may have it figured out. An issue unique to my car that could be causing the terminal to be contacting part of the metal on the door (i.e shorting out).

4 ohm Speakers measuring 0.5 ohms before crossover? What?

I recently installed a new (everything) system. Everything is working "great" excepect that I wasn't hearing sound from the woofer of my front components (4 ohm). Every couple minutes when the volume was turned up I would hear them pop on, garble distortion, then my amp would throw itself into...

    Wiring / Crossover help

I made a mistake and have two options: 1) locate passive crossover towards the door hinge (on inside of door panel) so it takes less abuse from the opening and closing of door, but i would need to splice + solder + shrink tube additional length to the wire. 2) locate passive crossove towards...

A couple amateur amp install questions

Pretty sure I know the answers but not 100% sure: 1) if I have a 6 channel amp, will I run into problems if 2 of the 6 channels run at different ohms? What about a 5 channel amp where the 5 th channel is at a different impedance? These may be different since as I understand they tend to be...
