    Which speakers from best buy?

Thanks for the info guys. Im not sure if I am going to bother. I am using a couple of small book shelf speakers facing up on the floor next to my kick panels. They sound pretty good, they are 3 way but have only got like 4" woofers. I have two 12" subs in the back. I find myself turning...

    Which speakers from best buy?

Seeing as how I am a little broke at the moment, I have been thinking about buying a set of speakers from best buy using my credit. Can anyone recommend anything from them that would sound good? I listen to everything from soft rock to hard rock to hip hop to newage. I am not looking for good...

I asked the same question on a forum where everyone designs and builds circuits and found out that if I were to try that, I would get exploding batterys I am impressed you guys were able to help me. Reading these forums I sometimes get the idea that im just seeing...

    14v battery?

I am in the process of building up my 1990 corvette. Putting in sound deadening, nice stereo system, new engine, suspension, lowering, painting, tinting the windows, ect.... I was curious if there is a way to make a 14v car battery. I could drop the voltage a bit for the ECU, rewind the...

Want lots of bass, but keep the weight down.

Im not going for SPL, or SQ, but a good mix of both. This is going in a sports car and I really want to keep the weight down. I will probably build a carbon fiber enclosure. Right now I am trying to figure out which way to go on the subs. I can do multiple smaller subs, like between 4 and 8...

Shallow subs vs Non Shallow subs?

Can anyone tell me just how much sound im giving up by going with a shallow sub? I am wanting as much decent quality sound out of as little space as possible and am pondering the best way to go about it. I also want it as light as possible. Im not looking for a sound quality sub, but im not...

Trying to figure out optimal enclosure size for 4x6 speakers.

Thanks for the responses. I was pretty much going to go with something very, very small. I am going to make some rings out of some 1/8" board I have and fiberglass it so I can make the back curved. I would like to bondo them and paint them black so they match my laptop. Thanks again.

Trying to figure out optimal enclosure size for 4x6 speakers.

I bought a pair of Pioneer TS-G4642R 4x6 coax speakers to use as laptop speakers. Seems like all computer speakers **** so bad, so I want to make my own. I ordered a wireless bluetooth stereo receiver and plan on making the speakers totally wireless to get rid of the wire clutter. Anyway...

    Im thinking 3 13W7s

Yep. I won't have any cargo space left but it looks like it's doable. Im still in the planning stages, I am thinking of doing two boxes. One with a 8 or a couple of 10s or something for daily driving/racing, and also having a wall I could put behind the seats with the 3 W7s for ground...

    Im thinking 3 13W7s

Nevermind, I found their website. They look like pretty good subs, only thing is it looks like they require quite a bit bigger box then the 13W7s. I could go with 3 Fi Q 12s, or 2 15's or 1 18 if I went with the FI Qs. Any thoughts?

Who sells those subs online so I can check out prices?

    Im thinking 3 13W7s

I did some preliminary measurements and it looks like I have the surface area and volume needed in my hatchback area for 3 13.5" W7 subs in a ported box. Anyone have any idea how loud I could hit with them? It would be going in a 1990 (C4 body style) Corvette. Or, can anyone recommend...

Need a good small box sub, 8" or 10"

It's for my 90 vette. I want them to get decently loud, but I want them to play pretty low too, so box size is even more important, since if the box is too small, you lose some extension. I have been out of the loop for like 10 years and don't know whats good now. Price is a factor, so try to...

Need a sub that goes LOW.

Where did I say that the speaker dictates frequency response more then the enclosure itself? The above quote is from the article I was basing my decisions on. It's BOTH the speaker and the enclosure combined that dictate the frequency response. I can build an enclosure to go low with a...
