    Class A amp?

Perhaps the better question is why not simply offer some assistance instead of arrogance? You might consider that none of the mods would have made such a statement, and this could provide a nice guide for future comment. Peace....

    Class A amp?

And yet you'll have folks even claim a swap of amps raised their soundstage and provided never-before-heard sparkle - thoughts?

    Class A amp?

Ok, thanks to the posts that follow - I am well aware of the "age-old" debate. But, the same debate is said to exist with "digital" CD players, as well, and such a debate does not rage anymore with respect to that piece of electronics - the differences are obvious. Are you saying simply...

    Class A amp?

And you are how old? My first post in months after hangin' at ECA and you're my welcome party. Class A topology, A/B, D... whatever. Seeking some elaboration and maturity out there....

    Class A amp?

By topology, you mean? Mathematical difference? Is this relevant? Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you mean, Squeak. Are you implying that one amplifier does not have tonal differences from another?

Help rating these Eclipse head units

Take the 8455 - hands down it is the best unit and I've used. Whitemax hit the nails on the head regarding the two issues of note, but both are miniscule, really, and you'll not find them continually annoying. You'll get used to the fast advance track dial, and so you advance two tracks... just...

Who's runnin' their Eclipse 8455 active?

I am running a 1996 Reference Picasso, bridged. Bridged, the amp is rated for 2 x 100 RMS at 12v; Four-channel mode the amp is said to give 25 x 4 RMS at 12v. Still think active is the way to go? I suspect it is... I am just curious to hear the justification for as to why. Thanks for any thoughts.

Who's runnin' their Eclipse 8455 active?

Fantastic, then how about some advice for how not to blow my drivers - I just haven't done it before. Do you just set the crossover frequencies on the HU and then wire things up? I mean how do you tune things? Sure, I know how to manipulate the settings, but how does one do this both...

Who's runnin' their Eclipse 8455 active?

Hey, fellas, I realize all of the above... I guess I am wondering how to go about this if I am running only a two-way set plus sub. In pro-mode, we are really talking a 4-way setup when including the sub (= three-way + sub). Right now, I have only braxials (two-way) plus the sub -- see what I am...

Who's runnin' their Eclipse 8455 active?

I have a CD8455 as a source for my CDT Eurosport braxials. Right now, I am using the Z-series crossovers on them. I want to consider running active. Does this make sense only if I go w/a three-way stage? Also, I plan on adding the Upstage/Stagefront system to my A-pillars... not sure if this...

    Components and rear fill Q

Been there, done that... rear speakers are a waste of time, effort and money. Sell of your rear-gear and upgrade your front stage if you want to continue and tinker. ESPECIALLY, since your explorer is only a two-door.
