ok, so about a month ago i noticed my passenger front speaker was cracking, so i thought i'd managed to blow it, replaced the speaker with a new set, and the same thing. so i thought perhaps a wire had a bare spot and was rubbing metal somewhere. turns out, my girl left a coke in my glove box...

ok, so all week i've been trying to figure this one out... the speaker is randomly doing this, when i turn it up where i consider it loud its there, but at normal volumes, sometimes it does it others it doesn't. I'm starting to wonder if maybe the speaker wires rubbing something metal or...

ok, i know the title sounds stupid, but i haven't found an idea about what could be causeing this. i've got an alpine 9833, and my passenger front speaker sounds like its blown. now i tried to swap out the speakers, but with the new one it sounded the same. I'm not sure if its all the time...

uh yea, so a type r 10" (original) in a 2.5 cu ft box isn't that bad then? hmm... maybe i will go ported then...

well i've worked it out to 2.8 cu ft (before taking the subs vol. out) and the reccomended is 1.3~2.5 cu ft... so i guess its not all that far off... but it is big and ulgy.

i am planning on building the new box, just needs to be designed... working on that.. just wanted to know if it'd be harming them or what...

ok, so i measured the prefab box i have for my subs.... it's almost a cu ft over the recommend specs for a sealed box... just wondering how bad that would be for the subs? i'm assumeing that it'll decrease the subs output maybe? any thoughts?
