    One or Two Amps?

You are right, no need to daisy-chain amps. That was a mistake on my part. So to hook up a dedicated sub-amp all I would have to do would be to run RCA's from head unit to sub amp instead of all RCA's going to 5-channel amp? (Obviously run new wire to distro and then distro to both amps for...

    One or Two Amps?

Squeak, Is this quote always correct? I was thinking of upgrading and getting a dedicated sub amp. Right now I have an Alpine MRV-F450 5-channel amp. I would prefer to keep this amp (just to save money) to run front components and possibly daisy chain the second amp. However, there are no...

    How far does bass travel?

Hypothetically then, if I were to add mid-bass I would need two drivers, perhaps under both front seats. How would that affect imaging?

    How far does bass travel?

Sorry to jump off topic but I have a similar question. At what frequency does sound become multi-directional? For home audio applications (surround sound) I was told that it doesn't matter where the subwoofer is placed in the room because the ear can't tell where bass notes are coming from (as...

    Bad Ground?

Alpine CDM-7861. It is probably 5 years old. Not sure. It is a 2005 Honda Accord. It does not have a power antenna that I know of. However, my understanding of a "power antenna" is that the antenna would extend and retract when the radio is on/off. This was my assumption with my 1994...

    Bad Ground?

Hi, I have some distortion coming out of my speakers when the Radio is on. It sounds like a bad ground but I don't have this problem when using the CD Player. I also lost all my AM reception. (A necessity around DC for traffic info) Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Grahm

    H/U Installation Help

No, unfortunately I only have two: front and rear/subs. So the distortion is due to the RCA outputs? I had the same problem when I wasn't going through the amp. Thats why I am confused Anyways, I think I am going to leave the rear speakers off. I would still like to know why though. Thanks

    H/U Installation Help

Finally got my front speakers hooked up through the amp. However, I still have that same problem regarding the distortion coming through the rear speakers. I disconnected rear speakers; problem solved. I am considering just leaving the rears out. But, just for my own curiousity, why would...

    Fog Lights

I don't "need" it. I think it looks good, IMO. All the European cars hook their foglights in the same configuration. Regardless, do you know if it is possible? Thanks

    Fog Lights

Hello, I had the Honda dealership install foglights on a 2005 Honda Accord. However, the fog lights only come on when the headlights are on. I want to rewire so that I can have my foglights on with either the parking lights on alone or both parking lights and headlights. How could I go about...

    H/U Installation Help

Thanks James, I tested it with the stock speakers w/out amplifier and it cleared up the noise. Just out of curiousity, why would it create noise in the first place if I don't have front speakers hooked up?

    H/U Installation Help

If the most likely reason why I am getting noise from the speakers is a bad ground, how could I check? As for where the ground connection is now I just used the aftermarket wire harness that had a ground wire which I crimped to new h/u wire. Is this sufficient? If grounding is the culprit can...
