Would positioning subs where they are aimed at each other from across the trunk of a car mess up the sound quality? What if their paths cross?

Ive got a few songs that for whatever reason either have part of another song on the same track or have very long periods of dead silence before or after the track. I need a simple free mp3 editor that I can snip this junk off the beginning and ending of the tracks. Any suggestions?
