I just installed a system in my new car, and believe it or not, but I feel the lack of bass at higher gains (Eclipse 7200 on a DPX11551 paired with a W12Gti!). But as soon as I open the door/window, i feel the bass to be hitting louder and harder. What EXACTLY is wrong with the install (or me? )

Most definitely will. The PRS is regarded as one of the best sets in the price range. I am now bent towards the 17PROs. Unless someone makes a good offer for a BNIB set of SR6500s

I meant the crossover of the PRS720 is the weaker link. If active, the mids can take a whole lot of power and the tweets come into their own.
