They have all been around for quite a long time and know what they are talking about
They would not influence me in any way to buy a certain product. I am a little biased as you should know by now anyway...
Yup you are going to need more juice to achieve stupid loudness with 2 12's or 3 10's. I say do 2 12's ported with about 2000 watts. This should satisfy your spl needs if it is done right.
Get a hifonics bxi1206d and call it a day. One can be had on ebay for about $210, but im sure if you shop around a little bit you could find one cheaper. It should do around 1000 watts b/c hifonics is just a bit overrated.
I can vouch for the vr1000d doing more than rated power because i've had good experience with this amp when it wasn't blown. It blew on be 2 times b/c I got a little happy with the gains being up on it. Keep the gains down a bit and this amp is a great choice.
My first noob set up contained an older lanzar vibe series amp and i can't really complain about it. It pushed my 2 old pioneer subs pretty well and this setup hit a 139.7 on the TL metered by Nick Wright of IA. These are decent budget amps if you don't have the money.
