Alpine HU gurus please look inside

Anyway... I own a DVA-9860 and have a question. I want to burn a DVD data disc with many Mp3's on it. Then I would like to create playlists concerning said files. Some Mp3's therefore will be listed within multiple playlists. It would be a waste of space to create a separate folder for each...

Fiberglass help. Yes, I read the tutorials.

Anyway... I am attempting to build dash pods for my Trius' mids. This is the first time I am glassing anything. I read several tutorials and purchased all that was needed. Everyone says to follow the manufacture's instructions regarding the resin and hardner. 14 drops of hardener per 1 oz...

    Sold FS: Alpine IVA-D300

In response to people asking about trades, the only thing I am looking for is a McIntosh MCC404(M) or amp with similar power, size, and quality to power a pair of tweets and mids. Thanks.

    Sold FS: Alpine IVA-D300

Anyway... This is just sitting on my shelf. So I might as well get rid of it. The bad news is that I do not have the original box or manual. (The manual can be downloaded from Alpine) The good news is that everything is in great, working condition. In fact, all of the wiring harnesses are...

Sold Diamond HEX 5.6 comps / ID IDQ-10 DVC 4Ohm

Anyway... I am selling a set of the Diamond HEX 5.6" components. These are the top of the line set utilizing a hexacone cone with a rubber surround. This set has the silk tweeters. The passive crossovers have an additional zobelly corrected output to connect a rear set of drivers. Both the...

    Modeling clay for glassing mold?

I think req was saying that I should use filler instead of FG. I am guessing that he suggested that I use the filler over top of the clay to achieve the desired shape. I did not explain that I will be using large format tweeters. They will be protruding an inch or more from the panel with a...

    Modeling clay for glassing mold?

Is that plastic bodyfiller moldable like modeling clay? I have neither used nor seen such a product before. I envisioned it like a thick glue. Or would I use it over the clay instead of the fiberglass?

    Modeling clay for glassing mold?

Well, if I glassed I could build out from the panel and use a larger format tweet. Plus I could angle the driver at any angle I needed instead of just crossfiring them. I guess I could use the clay to hold the tweet in a specific location while testing for the optimum angle before I laid the...

    Modeling clay for glassing mold?

Anyway... I might be trying my hand at glassing sail pillar pods onto the stock ones for tweets. In order to achieve the smooth, simple shape of the pod that I need, could I use non-hardening clay as a positive mold to lay the fiberglass over?

Anyway... I am going to replace the stock Monsoon mid ranges with the Adire Extremis 6.8's. The Adire's have the same outer diameter as the door panel speaker grills. The problem is I have tons of room, in fact too much room. The stock speakers (mounted to a plastic spacer ring against the...

Driver selection advice needed (sorry so long)

I am designing a high SQ 3-way front stage for my VW R32 and could use some guidance. No equipment has been purchased yet which leaves me still somewhat flexible. The goal is an outstanding sounding daily driver system with tuning emphasis centered on the driver and maybe not the whole vehicle...

Help make my 3-way problem a reality!

You are probably right about the other kicks. They are the cheap Q-forms. I know that by mass loading those kicks I may achieve better mid-bass performance. However, I am very concerned about soundstage height as well. Those Q-forms have a set tweet angle that you cannot change.
