Exactly a sports car. I own a 2006 Corvette Z06. Its not where near super car material. Yes its fast and can beat super cars, but I do not put it in that category. Its a 5 figure car, excluding the ZR1, compared to 6 and even 7 figure cars.
Ok I have a pioneer gm d 9601 mono amp and a alpine type R 10 500 watt RMS Dual coil 4 ohm wired into a 2 ohm. I used two apps on my phone to find the voltage I need to set my gain from the amp. I used this one app called Audio Tool Kit Pro. In there it asks on "amp gain settings" what the amp...
If the sub was blown would I not be able to read "ohms" coming from it. That showed 2.1 ohms or so. I think the amp is prob fried. If its under warranty would they replace it cause in the owners manual it says if the gain is set to high the amp will go into protect before it blows anything. I...
have been running a pioneer gm d9601 mono amp for about 2 months now with no problems. Pushing an alpine type r 10 in a 2ohm load. Amp gain is on normal. Today driving home with volume on half max if that. My sub stopped working and the amp got so **** hot it started smoking. The light on the...
the ground is grounded directly to the negative battery terminal cable. so yes. I have my rcas prob (i think) at least 6" if not more. I will double check but I'm sure i have them away a good distance. If that's not the cause then what else do you recommend?
I am having an issue with my 2006 Corvette Z06 (Alumnium Chassis) and an awful alternator whine. Before we start this is what I am running (I installed everything myself):

Speakers - Arc Audio Components and Coaxials
Amps - Pioneer GM-D8601 (mono) & Pioneer...
Thank you.
Well tried 2 different grounding places and found one that has the negative battery cable bolted to it. I used that and there is still alternator whine. The whine can def be heard when the volume is down very low. Once I turn it up its somewhat not noticeable. Should I be running...
amp is running 4ohm for speakers. have mids with crossovers and then rears. ill try different grounding spot but if the mono amp can handle the heat why not the 4 channel?
headunit is a Kenwood ddx 719. Should I ground the headunit? there is another groundon the side of the car I can use that has the battery wire grounded to. my main concern is why can the mono amp handle the heat but not the 4 channel?
I park my car out in the sun for about 10 hours minus 3 or so when its early in morning. Ill get into my car and notice the speakers aren't working but the sub amp is working. I have a Pioneer GM-D8604 and a D8601. They both are mounted vertically in the back of my C6Z in the open on my...
