The argument I read against battery grounding [car audio book] is based on the battery being a "noisy" place to ground.

Can I get some advice on this? This is my rookie install and I have read some that say you ground the amps to chassis close to the amp, and then I read about others who run a ground wire all the way back to the battery. What about doing both via a distro block?

I have to take issue (call BS) on this. First off we are talking about two-channel systems, not 5.1 surround systems. And even if we *were* talking 5.1 surround, would you take the midrange drivers out of your center and front L/R channels and mount them in boxes behind you? Of course not...

I am gathering cabling for a sub install off the P690UB. The HU has two rca outs for subwoofer. Do I need to buy a Y cable, or is the output mono? (same output to both RCA's) Thanks much, I just want to be sure.

I installed my 690UB, and hooked the 4" usb tail into the shortest usb cord I have, which is all of about six inches. It's so short that the cord doesnt really make it all the way from the HU to the glovebox. UNfortunately the Iomega 120GB 4200 RPM silver series portable HD will not initalize...
