Just got a new usb head unit and a hard drive. I have spent 333 of my 500 budget. I have 177 left, but lets round that up to 250 or so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I'd like to get an amp that I can hide behind the left rear panel in my 2000 passat wagon. I don't know if these amps will fit, I have to look again. I have seen some positive posts on (at least the 4-channel mosfet) Kicker. I also saw some folks using or planning to use the 5-channel digital one. So right now looking at these two, but also open to suggestion, minding my semi flexible budget... (omg I have seen some beautiful amps in other threads, drooling over DD)
MOSFET 4-Channel
Digital 5-channel with less wattage
Both these are Kicker. One is mosfet, the other class D. I am kind of wondering why Kicker charges more for a lower-powered amp. Is it because it's 5-channel or because of the class D? I mean, don't get me wrong... I like class D stuff, I use it at home. (I have tried the Panny Xr65 and JVC 201 and the Panny is brilliant for the price at digital sources) Is class D valuable in car audio? Wil it mean I don't need a fat capacitor, or is that not gonna be an issue either way?
I either get the 4-channel and power front (DEI components) and rear doors (use as subs as best as I can) and forget about a real sub until I can figure out where to put it and afford it, or... get the 5 channel D amp and think more about getting a sub...
Thanks for all advice/reading links, etc.
