Actually, I just read in the manual where it says what voltages are used, and all THREE preouts are at 6.5 volts. Therefore your math doesn't work regardless, since you assumed there were only two preouts. And yes, one of them is for subs only.

4 volt preouts you say? How about the 6 volt preouts on my Pioneer deck? I do agree that you should get what you want, but you can't beat having 6 volt preouts :c) It's like having a line driver built into your head unit.

I don't know what power your subs will take, but I currently have the Kenwood 729S hooked up to a 10" JL Audio 10W3 and it thumps just fine. The guys at Myer-Emco recommended the 10W3 sub, and it sounds great in my car, not underpowered at all... btw: the 729S amp hits 300 RMS, 600 peak, which...

I would definitely recommend sound quality. That's where my system is headed. To me at least, the benefits of SQ far outweigh any SPL benefits. You can listen to your system without the use of earplugs or other ear protection, and the sound is just so much better to me than bass that...

I'd say mount the subs in a row across the seat backs, as follows: The two center 10"s should be parallel to the seat back, with the two outer ones angled at around 25-40 degrees. That would look nice, and still let you use some of your trunk space. I know how you feel though... my 2001...

I like JL Audio subs personally... I had a 12" MTX, and that didn't sound right, so I got the blue Kenwood 12" sub, and that blew. Now I have a 10" JL 10W3 and it sounds and thumps great. Go with the JL. That, and I've never heard of that other company... lol :c)
