    Polyfill and sub enclosure questions

I think your going to be surprised how much you stuff into that box if you use the whole 3/4 lb. I doubt it will be floating around. Try not to stuff right behind the woofers, but a little behind there will not hurt.

    Polyfill and sub enclosure questions

Usually you use 1lb per cu. ft. of polyfill. So with your volume minus woofer displacement I'd suggest about 1/2-3/4 lb. When using polyfill or similar materials to stuff your enclosure you can make it 25% smaller. So your just about where you need to be.

    what all would i need

I had planned on a STi but I like being able to "build" a Mini the way I want it for a little less money. Also the wing on the Sti would have to go immediately after I bought so it was starting to look like too much money for a guy w/ 3 kids and wife. I could drive the Mini JCW for a few years...

    what all would i need

I would suggest using only one sub. A 10 or an 8 in a Mini is going to be plenty especially w/ a factory SQ setup and weight saving considerations. I'm sure you could use a line level converter and get signal from the rear speakers or behind the deck. And then all you would need is a standard...

4 Tang Bang 6.5" sub BOX **PICS**

When were they $9? Thats crazy! Are you using the enclosure size and tuning from the "boogieman" project?

    To Finish the system...

Well man I can't tell you what comps to buy because it's up to you what sounds good. But I would suggest using all of budget, excluding the wire, to buy a decent set of comps and ditch the rear fills. $300 will get you a pretty nice set of 5.25 comps.

Tang Band 6x9 sub review- Discuss here :)

I have wondered what these things sounded like. I plan on using a set in my wifes full size Montero. Since it's a 7 seater and I can't afford to give up the cargo room for an enclosure (and she doesn't want her vehicle to sound like "thunder") I thought these would fit the bill. I plan on...

    downfiring subs ?

Not all subs should be used in a downfiring setup. If you can use it 2 or 3 inches is enough. http://www.partsexpress.com/resources/downfire.html

Your friends amp is just bridged not double bridged. But tell him thanks for me I needed a good chuckle.

have i made a horrible mistake?

Definitely an improvement over your stock unit, so not a mistake. Although I'm with heyman I'm confused why you got rid of the ipod if you plan on using it most of the time.

    double bridge

Not sure exactly what you mean by "double bridging". But I'm going to go ahead and say no, unless you mean running more than one driver off a bridged amp. Than that would depend on the amp.

    Totally Tubular Speakers!

I'm not a big fan of that tweeter. But I love the DA-175's. There are several projects being done by guys on the PE board using that driver. Do a search on the Tech Talk board and you'll be able to come up with a more affordable project using the DA-175.
