Speaking of car analogies... I guess I'm asking if the difference is like a turbo 6 vs a supercharged 6, or are they the same turbo 6? By the responses, sounds like the same turbo 6.

Assuming same enclosure, and dual 4-ohm and dual 2-ohm versions of the same sub, and amps that produce the same power for those loads respectively (500w @ 4-ohm and 500w @ 2-ohm)... Is there a sound difference between the two? Difference in voltage drop?

I was more concerned about voltage drops. Stress happens any time the vehicle is running, but I don't want to STRAIN it. That's when bad stuff happens.

Anyone know a site that tests amps and lists their real specs? Looking at these amps on ebay, 90% of them look like their made in China. Even Planet Audio's Big Bang amps don't look like the one I bought a few yrs ago... back when they came with a certificate and no flashy LED's.

Don't remember, I just turned it to where it was the loudest. School me on this method of gain setting... scope is pretty much out of the question. Sub isn't blown, but it's definitely not 100% anymore. The hole in the cone isn't making things any better either. Deck is a Kenwood Excelon...

The original bible maybe... but how many times has it been re-written, and how many versions are there now? Every time some leader started feeling like he was the sh1t, he had someone re-write the bible the way he felt it should be.
