JL Audio xd200 or PPI 600.2

JL Audio xd200 or PPI Phantom 600.2 Application is a 1995 Porsche 911. The amp is for a pair of Polk DB6501 in the doors. Is the JL Audio worth 50% more? I need to keep the amp size small so it will fit under passenger seat. Other suggestions for amp? POLK DB6501: 100 RMS, Peak 300 RMS JL...

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

OK, I bow down to y'all. I have them wired for 4 ohm operation so it looks like it will be 150 watts max to each sub (amp is 300w @ 4ohms). That should be enough, we will see. The spec sheet threw me... Thanks to all who helped out.

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

I can't, they are soldered. The multimeter does read 4 ohms when measuring +/- off the leads going to the amp. Also, in looking at the spec sheet it does say DC VC res both coils in parallel = 1.9 ohms. Does that translate to 4 ohms. Yes the part number says 104dvc. You are saying that...

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

Confused. The spec sheet says they are 1.9 ohms. When I ran the wizard it says 2 ohms. What am I missing?

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

Mystery solved. I have taken both subs out and found that they are indeed model XS104DVC. It looks like the amp I have will work with this config. although probably a little too powerful given 350 watts from the amp going into these subs which are rated at Pe (thermal power handling) of 200...

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

Actually, I just double checked. The part number I mentioned was wrong. The correct part no.s are XS104DVC and XS104SVC.

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

I will have to take them out of the enclosure to be certain. I was able to locate the spec sheets for both the dvc and svc from a site that had archived all of the PG manuals from the past. The spec sheet says the DVC version is 1.9 ohm and the SVC is 3.65 ohm (DC VC Res).

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

I am not 100 percent certain as the subs are in enclosures. When I tested the the two wires coming out of the box with an ohm meter it read 4 ohms. Someone told me that indicates the are DVC. There are only two models of the AS104. Either SVC or DVC.

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

OK, so I just wire them per the wizard you referenced. It said 2 2 ohm subs can be wire to two ohms. Sorry for my idiocy. I'm new at this..

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

I understand how to do the wiring. It seems I have the option of doing one or the other. Why pick one versus the other?

how to wire 2 subs: 2 ohm or 4 ohm

I have a pair of oldish 10 inch subs. There are Phoenix Gold model AS104dvc 2 ohm speakers. I will power them with a mono amp that will provide either 450 Watts RMS at 2 ohms or 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms. Which is better? What are the pro's and con's of either set up.

    Need Help Selecting Amp(s)

OK, let me clarify what I want. The car in question is an old 911. The cabin is tiny. There are two spots where the amp or amps can go: Spot 1: Under passenger seat where the existing piece of crap (Nokia) amp is located. The available space here is roughly 12 x 12 x 3. This is the...
