I have a question about the decible output on subs. How can you tell when the sub is at a high enough db level to damage your hearing? Well, an obvious sign would be if its painful, but is it just me or does bass at high levels still seem somewhat comfortable. (I dunno if that made any sense)...

I got an alpine head unit as a gift. It was about $350. I have factory speakers and now they sound very clean. What volume level should i stay below? I don't want to blow my speakers. ( the alpine is rated max 60x4) thanks
