10ga? For a volt meter that draws almost no current. Crazy. 14 awg at the most imo (16 or 18 would be fine too). I mean look at the leads on it, if it really needed thick cable would the wires be like 26 awg?

If the hole isnt too big (going to break the terminal) then just drill it bigger. To make it easier just keep going up in size slowly so you dont mangle/break the terminal
