HD? Do I need a special player?

Standard DVD's play at 480i/480p resolution and Blu-ray plays at 720p, 1080i or 1080p resolution. If you play a 1080 line Blu-ray disc on a 720p TV, the image will get downscaled to fit on screen, but the quality will still be much higher than a 480i/p DVD. If you enjoy good quality video then a...

    "The Ark" ; worklog.

Wouldn't that be ideal. If I were that rich I might as well just build a house for stereo audio and a separate house for HT. And maybe one to live in.

    New Box Questions

#1: Yes it will work just fine. #2: The effective length will extend past the port wall by approximately 1/2 the width of the port.

    This about right?

That size sounds fine. You can play with stuffing it and see what sounds best to you. Stuffing will create an effect of a slightly larger enclosure which will could possibly increase low end output.

    Box for Two 12 CVR's

    looks good.

    Which box for HDC3 12?

Those boxes might work for a Jensen or Volfenhag sub but the HDC3 is a nice sub and it deserves a high quality box--go with a custom built to AQ's specs with nice big port area and stay away from those crappy prefabs.

    diy bedliner

Not as nice as real bedliner but it can work. I would recommend priming and flat black base coat before applying. Also it is more expensive and troublesome than carpet, as it will take many cans and several coats to achieve a nice thick texture. I haven't tried to roll on version but I've heard...

Router Bits and Circular Saw blades

Jasper Jig can use any size shank/cutting diameter. The measurements are calibrated for 1/4" but it's easy to add or subtract to convert different size bits. I use a 1/4" spiral upcut bit for cutting standard circles (the spiral is a little better than the standard fluted straight cut bit)...

Router Bits and Circular Saw blades

Actually when it comes to blade and bits, in general the cheaper the worse. I would avoid those super cheap ebay router bit mega packs.

    How would this enclosure act?

If the opening is small enough it will act like a crappy dual-chamber reflex box (unless tuned specifically and properly). Otherwise it will just act like a crappy bass reflex box. Here's an example of a DCR (dual chamber reflex) enclosure:

    10" flared port is wangin'

Yes, I know about PVC and flaring.

    10" flared port is wangin'

Did you build that from a stack of rings? I wonder if there might have been an easier way to make a 10" tube. Although it is pretty sick.

    Shared Enclosure Volume Gain?

I don't think this is true... you'll get more net airspace from the same gross volume but only because separate chambers take up more volume. I think the notion just stems from the fact that when many people upgrade from a single sub to 2 subs, for example, they don't usually want to build a box...

    Help with slot port turn

The effective slot port length is found by intersecting it with 45 degree angle with enclosure wall. This is how you measure it, right down the middle:
