how do you make muting plugs?

chris229, Figured it out, it was my head unit. Wired a speaker straight to the rear output of the head unit and no noise. Then wired a speaker straight to the front output of the head unit and NOISE! Going to swap it out under warranty. Thanks for your help.

how do you make muting plugs?

chris229, setup is exactly as you mentioned. Noise is only through front speakers and switches to rears when I switch the RCAs at the amp (switch front and rear inputs). Because of this, I figured it was either the RCA or further along the connection (ie. HU outputs). So...I tried completely...

how do you make muting plugs?

chris229, thanks for the info. I id what you said and I have a problem. I put in Diamond Hex s500 components for the fronts and left my stock for rear fill. I have a JL W3 10" sub in a fiberglass enclosure and a JL500.5 amp to run everything. Here is the issue. My stock stereo had the...

how do you make muting plugs?

Is this the correct way to make muting plugs? Cut an old pair of RCA interconnects and connect the positive to positive (center wires) and negative to negative (outside wires) TIA

Zane! & other electrical gurus, I need some help please!

That's a good idea. Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you cut it? Is it because I lose quality? Thanks again.

Zane! & other electrical gurus, I need some help please!

I'm connecting my amp to my head unit with Monstercable Interlink 201XLN RCAs. I need to cut one end so I can splice it into my factory harness in my trunk (leads to my head unit for the HU outputs) and the other end of the RCAs will plug into my amp. These RCAs are 'balanced' with a (+) &amp...

I ordered some components from them a week ago. I finally called them and they told me the components were out of stock but they expect them next week. You may want to call them to see what's going on.

Help with 5 1/4" components, opinions needed...

I don't doubt your recommendation regarding the oz audio's sound, however I'm running into some serious difficulty with my woofer depth. I need to keep it in the stock location and I'm looking at about 2 3/8" of space. Because of the shape of the opening and the surrounding area, I cannot use...

Help with 5 1/4" components, opinions needed...

Audiolife, I appreciate your input. There are no local places to listen to the oz audios or the cdts. What do you think about the Diamond s500s? Would you say they are approximately equivalent to the previously mentioned?

Good idea. Now I just need to find some connectors that will accept 4 gauge wire.

Mounting an amp behind my rear seat, recommendations for materials?

imral3, You are right. I will be installing 2 things instead of one. Here's the reason: I have folding rear seats and 2 young kids. Sometimes I need to fold the seat down to accomodate the junk we carry around. Also by mounting my amp to a board then bracketing the board to my rear deck (2...
