Basic stereo for '78 Lincoln Continental

Any more subwoofer suggestions? I haven't bothered to get anything since I posted last...That MB Quart unit is 500 watts. I would like something closer to the 300w capability of my small amplifier. SSA? Will this sound better than the JL w0 I have right now?

Basic stereo for '78 Lincoln Continental

Well to update...I returned the Infinity Kappas back to Frys and got my $190 back. I borrowed a few subwoofers from friends and am actually getting what I would consider to be really good sound. But since I am borrowing them, I will need to give them back... I borrowed some Sony Xplod 10's...

Basic stereo for '78 Lincoln Continental

About 12 or so; it depends how you drive. The car has cruise control and can probably do about 15 or 16 on the freeway. The car no longer has the Motorcraft 4350...It has a Holley 4160 now which is probably more efficient.

Basic stereo for '78 Lincoln Continental

What is good material to use for sealant? Should I get something that stays tacky (does not harden). I was reading the thread about deadening door panels and that guy had some sort of clay. Also, on those Tangband 6x9 speakers...They offer a model with a paper cone and also a model with a...

I have a spare on it right now as one of the belts on those Toyos failed and started to come through the sidewall. I will buy new tires after I decide on this stereo. What do you think I should do with that trunk?

Basic stereo for '78 Lincoln Continental

I need some help on setting up my stereo. It's a 1978 Lincoln Continental. The original 8-track was removed by the previous owner and he had installed a tape deck that was compatible with common ground wiring. I rewired the audio system and installed an Alpine CDA-9856 for my headunit. The...

    Best 6x9's You've heard?

What are your opinions of Infinity Kappa 6x9s? The 2-way model. They cost $179 where I bought them...I plan on returning them and buying them for $80 less online, unless there are much better options.

    Relay?

The 12v+ on the amplifier is always hot is it not? All the remote does is turn the amplifier on...I had thought that you were not supposed to have things powered directly from the remote terminal of the amplifier as the internal transistor was like .5amps...I think I read that on bcae, I might...

    Relay?

Yes you can use a relay. It is just an electromagnetic switch that switches when it is energized, instead of when you toggle it, or when you press the button. You can do all sorts of things with them. The wiring for a SPST relay can be found online and most likely on the back of the packaging...
