COMPLETED Pioneer Monoblock Sub Amp - 1ohm Stable1,200 Watts Continuous

GM-D9701. Used it to power a sound quality sub (Adire Brahma 15”). Was adult owned and carefully used (had a Mini DSP connected to it with a limiter to protect the amp and sub). Excellent condition. Excellent condition. The only trade I will consider is a 5.1 (or better) home audio...

    That’s worth a try, thanks!

That sounds like exactly what I would need. I’m not too confident in my ability to cut out a clean circle with a skill saw, so I may have to use a pre-cut baffle like the ones parts express sells, and then build the rest (straight cuts are no problem for me🤣).

Wow, that sounds like a really cool design, purpose built for its use! Thanks from sharing, Buck! 👍🏽

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

You weren’t kidding…that did sound a lot fuller, at a lower gain level at the amp! I couldn’t keep it that way because it made it hard to take a stroller in and out without possibly damaging the driver, and the dog couldn’t climb in the back. but, it’s good to know that firing the port...

Oh man, you’ve got me thinking about saving up for a new box now! That setup sounds awesome!

I’ve never heard an IDMAX, but the Brahma seems to be exactly how you describe it. The only bad part is it now has me wanting equally good mids and tweeters to replace the stock stuff I have. 😬

I did try, but none of them made a noticeable difference…at least not in a good way: loading it against the rear hatch made all the rattle worse! 🤣

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

Oh really? That’s interesting! I didn’t think the new upgrades made much of a difference for my use (moderate listening with 800w or so), but I did’t consider that the older version would actually be preferable. That makes me feel better about the extra work I had to do (adding the mdf ring to...

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

So, I hate threads like this that don’t have a resolution, so I wanted to report back, especially to those who took the time to share your knowledge with me. I tried to order the IDMAX15, but no one had it in stock. I called Image Dynamics directly, and they said it may take a month or more to...

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

That’s good to know! Considering that this box was built specifically for the IDMAX15, per IDs specs, and it has some unique characteristics that are specific to that driver (like the larger cutout and shorter port), I think it makes sense to at least try it. If it doesn’t work out, I will...

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

Those both look pretty promising! I’m wondering if the Dayton may work better with the box I had built for the IDMAX? Worst case scenario, if the cutout is too big, I can get one of these and glue+screw it on top of my current baffle to make it work with the Dayton...

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

Dang! I’m seeing a theme hare that the IDMAX may not be a good fit. The question I’m considering now is if any true SQL subs would work in that box I had built for the IDMAX. And, would half an inch larger cutout be in issue for something like a Brahma, or if I will need to make a baffle...

    Second guessing my IDMAX15 build

I’m out of town until Sunday, but I can post those dimensions when I’m back. Those are the dimensions on my new box that I had built for the IDMAX based on IDs specs for “Audiophile” build. I haven’t tried the Sundown in it due to the cutout being too large.
