    Hello...new guy here

try DIYMA.com this seems to be more SPL related. I'm here for a spell learning alternators and power for a bit so I can attest to the lack of SQ experience.. Welcome, though. SQ involves ALOT of research but can be done for cheap if understood.

    Looking for Suggestions

I' would honestly look into home drivers, an active set-up and an alpine PXA H650. Old school is great in terms of power power power. Unfortunately, power lost out with lower cost components and the addition of digital processing. We've lost alot of clean output that 90's system's could...

    help with sql

many drivers would be "SQ" oriented if the rules of acoustics were considered prior to installation. that said, drivers don't all sound the same. When it comes to power handling, which you'll apparently need, Morel's always come to mind..and they're works of art in the upper lines. Dyn's are...

    Good rears to compliment frontstage

You didn't answer about the optional processor. Rear speakers, meaning, simply, a second stereo pair playing the same thing. Usually just to make it louder. To accentuate front stage, rear-fill is in order. Usually bandlimited, 20-30 milisecond delay. This is done to give the impression that...

Help Me Decide PLEASE! HERTZ vs MOREL

morel tends to have a "rich" sound caused by even order distortion. Sort of like a clean version of what a good "tube" sound would be. I think that is worthstating, if not full consideration. Hertz, on the other hand, will color less. Theoretically, SQ is about removing all coloration and all...

sexy midbass, but is it good?

I've heard four in a shared slotted enclosure. Sounded great, IMO. As a sub, I was impressed but doubt their popularity as an SPL driver. As a midbass, I'd wonder about installation and width at final depth, if that makes sense. I've not heard them as midbass. They are a great avenue as are...

    Not loud enough!

why not do some research? find a class d that can run your 4 ohm load at close to the same wattage as a 2 ohm load. I'm not going to get much into the benefits of robbing yourself of sound quality:) I like to look for the copies of great amps. I run the slightly older tripath model of this. Now...

    Not loud enough!

this term "1 ohm stable" is a laugh. Anyway, get a good class D amp capapble of driving 4 ohms very hard. Or get another sub and run the 2 4 ohm drivers at 2 ohms. You can find amps that don't burn up at 1 ohm...but they sure as hell don't sound good at 1 ohm. You're just trying to squeexe too...
