I am using this PG MS 275 to power a dual voice coil sub. I know it will be safe at an 8 ohm load, but was wondering about the 2 ohm bridge setup.
If 90% of the time I run the volume at lower levels, will this be safe. Or is 2 ohm bridged at any level for any amount of time not good for the amp.
Reviving this old thread. Anyone have any experience with the KTP-445? I just installed one and was really surprised. Small, sounds great, installs easily, does what it claims... I wonder what the life expectancy is on this?
Hey,
Did you ever resolve your issues. What was it?
I installed the KTP-445 with an Alpine CDE-102 and I love it. I was skeptical at first, with the size and numbers associated to it but was surprised. I supplemented that with a 10" sub and amp.
I have a new 10" Quart sub for sale. Its a dual voice coil speaker and I am also including the passive 8 ohm 100hz low pass 12 db crossover. Asking $45 plus shipping to your location, Paypal preferred.
Well I ended up buying the tools from Walmart, 2 sets, pulling the radio and getting the correct wire color/placements from the back of the head unit itself. Turns out in my case the GN wire is in the wrong location at the plug (pin47) in the rear. All colored wires are + and the black wires -...
Duh you're right on the AC vs DC thing...
The thing is my plug does not match what this picture depicts:
Left Rear + Input 37 BK
Left Rear - Input 38 WT
Right Rear - Input 40 BN
Right Rear + Input 41 BK
Left Front + Input 43 YW
Left Front - Input 44 BK
Right Front - Input...
I'm referring to correct polarity here...I have a Jetta MK IV. I'm trying to figure out which leads on my factory head unit are positive and which are negative. Some people say some wire(s) were misplaced and other pictures/schematics don't add up to what I have.
Can't you meter the wires and...
Wow I used to have a couple of these. Remember when they came out with a water cooling kit to run water through the hollow spaces along the ends... oh wait maybe that was just a dream..
I keep going back to this site:

Check out the links, high pass filters, low pass filters, first order, second order, filter calculators, all sorts or good stuff.
I used to know this but want to make sure. I am installing a single amp system with no active crossover. I want to use cap as high pass filters. I have front 4 ohm speakers and rear 4 ohm speakers so generally the amp sees a 2 ohm load.
If I install the cap after the split, say at each speaker...
