I recently installed the black Optidrive 6.5 comp set in my 1990 Mustang. I have fully deadened the door panels but have not covered the holes or used any acoustic foam yet. I was very skeptical at first. After three weeks of running them as hard as I can...WOW! They are absolutely awesome...

Ok, I have the inner and outer doors covered with fat mat. I want to cover the big holes with something. The sheet metal at Home Depot seems flexible. Will 1.4 inch MDF be ok? Also, where do I get ensolite and the foam pad to put right behind the mid?

Just wondering if if filling and covering the big holes in the door panels makes a huge difference? I will deaden everything as well. There is one hole that will be impossible to cover because of how the window motor is mounted.

Interesting views on the coil size. A bigger coil would also reduce cone flex compared to a small one.

Just wondering what advantages the 3" coil would have for a 6.5? A lot of bigger woofers also have a 3" coils like 12's and 15's.

I can't find anyone who has tested or heard these. They can't be too horrible. I was a Lanzar fan way back and have heard they are coming back.

Well the Blaupunkt PCxb352 3.5's are loud as hell of my head unit while I'm still waiting for my back ordered 720's.

I have an Old Lanzar Optidrive 4150 4 channel for the fronts. Bridged I think 150 rms x 2 but have heard it should be quite a bit more.
